Council and politics

After a municipal election, councillors become members of the (velvet) municipal or city council and the various committees upon acceptance of the election, at the earliest at the beginning of the election period. The term of office is five years. The current term of office began on 1 November 2021 and ends on 31 October 2026. Council members perform their voluntary work within the framework of the law according to their free convictions, guided only by consideration for the common good.

The joint municipal/municipal mayor invites the council members to the respective meeting in writing, informing them of the agenda and all documents.
