The municipality of Georgsdorf - situated on the southern edge of the Bourtanger Moor - is a modern community. The church, together with the windmill and the canal sections, are the main elements that characterise the village.

Residential building plots east of the canal and north of district road 13 in the Im Fürstlichen residential development area are available for families. The building plots are marketed by Grundstücks- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft Grafschaft Bentheim (GGB).

Georgsdorf is home to the "Die Moorspatzen" kindergarten, a primary school with a library and a sports hall with spaces.
