Esche is a rural residential community on the River Vechte between Nordhorn and Emlichheim. Regional buses (line 20) from the Grafschaft Bentheim transport association run every hour to Hoogstede and via Veldhausen to Neuenhaus on the state road 44.

Families feel at home in the Raterinks Kamp residential area. The municipality runs the "Kläine Footstappen" kindergarten and has several sports fields. The "Escher Hof" is available for celebrations and can be hired from Mayor Herbert Snieders.

The Brünas Heide nature reserve covers an area of 10 hectares and is ideal for cycling. Grafschafter Fietsentour 14 leads through this landscape.
